Year Groups#
Year groups within the school are synced from SIMS if you have any module enabled. We sync both the group and the memberships to that group.
What Data is Imported#
The following details from the year group are imported, they are imported as user groups with a type of Year.
Description - Mapped to Description
ID - Mapped to Third Party ID (This field isn’t visible to users)
Name - Mapped to Name
The following details of the group memberships are imported, they are imported as group memberships to the created year group.
End Date - Mapped to the group membership end date
Start Date - Mapped to the group membership start date
User - Mapped to the user
The following details of the group supervisors are imported, they are imported as group supervisors to the created year groups.
End Date - Mapped to the group supervisor end date
Start Date - Mapped to the group supervisor start date
User - Mapped to the user
Permissions#
The following SIMS permissions are required for the sync to complete successfully:
Group Manager -> Pastoral Organisation -> View (All)
Group Manager -> Pastoral Organisation -> View Membership (All)
Tools -> Set Up Lookups -> Run
The permissions required by other sync processes are also required. All permissions required for:
Staff member syncing
Student syncing
